Description

The course includes hands on demonstrations. This class is perfect for construction workers and industrial applications. We cover Fed & Cal OSHA's Fall Protection Regulations 1926.500 & 1670 and how the standard applies to both Construction and General Industry.

We will also address Military Spec EM-385 and ANSI Z359 ‘Managed Fall Protection Standard’

We’ll demonstrate how to set-up an anchor point and lifelines on a roof. Harness inspection, adjustment, of safety harness, lanyards, Self Retracting Lifelines, Fall Restraint/ positioning systems and rescue procedures will be covered.

The class is 6 to 8 hours depending on the size of the class. Upon course completion, students will receive a wallet card and certificate.

Our 1 day class was developed for experienced field personnel who use fall protection systems frequently. The 2 day class gives students an additional day of hands-on experience and our 3 day class is for students who want to learn as much as possible about fall protection equipment and fully understand the Fed & Cal OSHA regulations.

Did you know * OSHA requires employers to provide task specific training where hazards exist OSHA 1926.21 OSHA Fact * Leading edge fall hazards are a major cause of injuries in construction.

Construction Safety Order 1926.503 (a) (2) states the following: Competent Persons/ Qualified in the following areas shall give training to employees who are exposed to fall hazards. You can become a Trainer if you have previously attended a Competent Person fall protection class.

OSHA definition: “A Qualified Person must demonstrate extensive knowledge and have the ability to solve & resolve problems”.

Our ‘Qualified Trainer’ course covers Construction and General Industry Fall Protection regulations in depth. This class would be an excellent choice for a Safety Manager or Supervisor. Training techniques and practical skills are taught in a 2 day workshop environment. Students are required to take part in hands-on set-up of systems. Students who pass the exam and demonstrate sufficient skills and knowledge are given a certificate for Qualified Trainer. This license is good for 5 years.

COMPETENT PERSON

This class will prepare all trades in understanding the hazards of modular scaffolding, swingstage and rolling scaffolds. We will hold this class in English and Spanish translation is given where necessary. The course includes a hands on demonstration of inspecting a scaffold, ladder attachments and inspection techniques. This class is perfect for construction workers and industrial applications.

QUALIFIED PERSON

This class will prepare all trades in understanding basic scaffold erection techniques for welded frame, tube & coupler and rolling scaffold construction for most construction applications.

This class is given in English and Spanish translation is given where necessary. The course includes a hands on demonstration of inspecting a scaffold, ladder attachments and inspection techniques. This class is perfect for construction workers and industrial applications.

This class meets Cal & Fed OSHA’s requirement for Competent & Qualified Person Scaffold Inspection prior to erecting and starting work on a scaffold. The course is suitable for most commercial and residential applications.

Carpeneters, laborers, masons, ironworkers and electricians all use scaffolding and must be familiar with the Cal OSHA 1637 & 1644 Standards for Construction. Instructors will focus on proper set-up and inspection procedures. Students will learn to solve problems and design their own platforms as well as stairway and ladder access issues. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion and a Scaffold/ Competent Person wallet card.
