This session takes on changes and extra work for which subcontractors may have rights to be paid and given extra time, such as changes in scope, cost increases, unforeseen conditions, and force majeure. Participants will review language setting up processes and requirements for requesting and documenting the extra work, the amount charged, and the time to be given, and conclude with notice and waiver provisions, their consequences, and how to avoid them.

The unprecedented uncertainty of COVID-19 created major stress, anxiety, fear and worries among workers and their families This session focuses on WHY these topics are a leadership imperative for construction leaders at all levels throughout the construction industry. Construction has the 2nd highest rate of suicide among all occupations. Learn what you can do to help promote mental wellbeing and reduce risk of substance misuse and suicide in your company and our industry.

The suicide rate for construction workers is the second highest of all industries. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention about 53 construction workers out of every 100,000 die from suicide. The presenter is Stuart Binstock, President and CEO for the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). The association founded the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention in 2016. Mr. Binstock is an attorney with extensive background in industrial and labor relations.
