None so far have specifically studied labor productivity impacts in steel framing, and the installation and finishing of gypsum wallboard. To determine the potential effects to labor productivity to a drywall subcontractor, SWACCA and the NWCB conducted a national survey of more than 250 projects in 2022 to determine what the potential impact would be if certain variables were experienced on a project. In addition to the survey results, a User Guide for estimating the potential cost was also provided.

Key Topics: Introduction to the Study of Impacts to Labor Productivity

Explanation of Types of Impacts & How They Will Affect Your Productivity

How to Determine the Severity of the Impacts

Determining the Estimated Productivity Loss

Calculating the Lost Labor-Hours and Cost

Providing Timely Notification

Member Value / Takeaways: Knowing what the potential costs are likely going to be, provides the subcontractor with timely information/notification to the GC, thereby increasing your opportunity for recovery.

Target Audience: Construction Managers, Project Managers, Field Supervisors/Superintendents, Estimators, Owners

Presenter: Terry Kastner is the President/Owner of Wall and Ceiling Consulting Services (WCCS).
